TOWING POLICY
In July 2008 the University adopted a new Vehicle Towing Policy as a way to deter illegal parking in campus parking lots and provide parking to those disabled individuals or to those who have paid for a permit. This policy change was a recommendation of the 2007 Transportation and Parking Plan that was developed with input from students, faculty, and staff.
Those persons with 5 or more unpaid citations from parking illegally in West Virginia University lots requiring a permit will be subject to towing. Those persons with 10 or more unpaid citations in a short term lot will also be subject to towing. The vehicle will be moved to a location under control of the WVU Police Department.
Should your car get towed, please call the Parking Management Office, 304-293-5502 or the WVU Police Department, 304-293-3136 after hours for information regarding the procedure for getting your car. Prior to release of a towed car, all unpaid parking citations and the tow charges must be paid.
