PRT suspends service during summer for modernization
Beginning May 5, the PRT will be closed for passenger service to continue with automatic train control modernization and perform other maintenance and testing activities. It is anticipated that normal operations will resume Wednesday, Aug. 1.
During this period, the WVU shuttle service will be in operation starting the week of May 14. The WVU shuttle service will operate Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Departure locations will be from Beechurst bus stop and Mountaineer Station. Stops in between will include Towers and Evansdale Crossing. Walnut station passengers will need to use the Beechurst location for bus service. This is a free service for WVU students, faculty and staff.
In addition, the Mountain Line “Blue and Gold Connector” route will be operating Monday through Friday from 6:40 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. with limited service on Saturdays and Sundays. This route will include Towers, Oakland, Law School, Grant Avenue, Beechurst and Evansdale Crossing. WVU students and employees may ride the Mountain Line bus for free with a valid WVU ID.
