WV GIS Coordinator: Plans and Current Status
Since the WV GIS Coordinator, Katherine Kapo, resigned October 1st, the WV Department of Commerce is leading the effort to hire a new coordinator who has the experience, energy, and qualifications to meet the needs of the West Virginia GIS Community.  For more information about the GIS Coordinator position, refer to the letter dated 21 October 2008 from Dr. Michael Hohn, Director of the WV Geological and Economic Survey.

Landsat Archive to Be Accessible at No Charge
On April 21, 2008, the USGS announced plans to provide all archived Landsat scenes at no charge to all users. All Landsat imagery is now expected to be available by the end of 2008.
