Creating a Ship Request in Pitney Ship Pro

Instructions

  1. Log in to Pitney Ship Pro
    • Don’t have an account? Contact Mail Services at 304-293-4050 to request one.

  2. Start a New Request
    • Click “Create Ship Request.”

  3. Confirm Sender Information
    • This is your name, department, address, email and phone number. Make sure it’s correct.

  4. Enter Recipient Details
    • Name
    • Company (optional)
    • Country: Do not change this from “United States.”
      • For international shipments: Attach a note with the recipient’s name, full address (including country and zip) and your department’s DSN. Place it with outgoing mail. Mail Services will handle it separately.
    • Address and zip code
      • The city and state should auto-fill from the zip code. Double-check for accuracy.

  5. Optional: Email Notifications
    • Enter your email or the recipient’s if you’d like a delivery confirmation.

  6. Add Package Dimensions (if available)
    • Use a tape measure to enter length, width and height.

  7. Add Package Weight (if available)
    • Use a scale to enter the weight.

  8. Select Shipping Rates and Services
    • You must enter the full address, dimensions and weight before choosing a rate.
    • If you leave this blank, Mail Services will choose the most cost-effective option.

  9. Enter the Department’s DSN (Postage Code)
    • Type your DSN in the “Cost Account” box.
    • Select the matching result from the dropdown.
    • You can also search by department name or PO Box (e.g., type “Football”).
    • Be sure to select the correct DSN if your department has more than one.

  10. Print and Attach the Request
    • Click the green “Print Ship Request” button.
    • Attach the printed request to the package and place it in outgoing mail.
    • Mail Services will pick it up and process the shipment.
