Guidelines
-
Include a DSN (Distribution Set Number).
- All outgoing mail must be labeled with a valid DSN. This code ensures proper billing and processing. If your department needs a new DSN or additional DSN cards, please contact Mail Services.
-
Avoid paperclips and binder clips inside envelopes.
- These can interfere with automated mail sorting and may result in increased postage costs. Please remove all clips before mailing.
-
Sort your mail before submission:
- Separate campus mail, domestic mail and international mail.
- Separate sealed mail from unsealed mail.
- Arrange all mail facing the same direction.
-
Bundle mail by DSN.
- Use rubber bands to group together mail items that share the same DSN. Do not bundle items with different DSNs together.
- Once sorted and bundled, place your outgoing mail in your department’s designated mail pickup area.
