As our campus community returns after winter break, the WVU Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system resumes operations on Monday, Jan. 9, at 6:30 a.m.
Normal PRT operating hours are 6:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The PRT is closed on Sunday.
On select days this semester, the PRT will operate on a modified schedule for University closures and Athletic events:
- Jan. 16 – closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- Jan. 21 – 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. for the men’s basketball game vs. Texas.
- Feb. 4 – 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. for the men’s basketball game vs. Oklahoma
- March 4 – 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the men’s basketball game vs. Kansas State
- March 11 to March 19 – closed for spring break
- April 7 to April 9 – closed for Easter weekend
As a reminder, riding the PRT is free for WVU students and employees. The PRT system has five stations on all three areas of campus, and it’s one of the most efficient and sustainable ways to get around campus.
To ride, just swipe your card or pay, click the button next to your chosen destination, enter through the turnstiles, and wait for your ride. Use the digital signage across the platforms to know when your vehicle is arriving and where you can board.
While using the PRT, be sure to follow all guidelines to ensure your safety. If you have any questions or concerns while using the PRT, please use the assistance telephones located on each platform to talk directly to PRT Central Control.
